PUTNAM DA ANNOUNCES CONVICTION
FOR COCAINE SALES AND POSSESSION


CARMEL, NEW YORK – September 25, 2018: Putnam County District Attorney Robert V. Tendy announced today that on September 25, 2018, Omar Miles, a resident of Lake Peekskill, NY was convicted after a jury trial of three counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree and three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree. All counts are B felonies and Miles faces up to a maximum of 36 years in state prison.

The defendant has 6 prior felony convictions, all drug-related. “This was a great collaborative effort involving the District Attorney’s Office, the Sheriff’s office, the Narcotics Enforcement Unit, Putnam Corrections, and the NYS Police Crime Lab.” Tendy said. “ADAs Breanne Smith and Patty Rau put together a fantastic court presentation. This was a just and deserved conviction and I want to thank the jury for recognizing the defendant for what he is, a drug dealer.” Miles will be sentenced by Judge James Rooney on November 14, 2018.
