Obituary, Nancy M. Wade

Nancy M. Wade, 80, a lifelong resident of the Town of LaGrange, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 20, 2018, at her residence. Born in Poughkeepsie on December 26, 1937, she was the daughter of Irving and Grace Duncan Meddaugh. She was a graduate of Arlington High School, Class of 1955 and attended Green Mountain College.

On September 21, 1958, Nancy married George Wade III. Mr. Wade survives at home in LaGrange. Nancy began her career as a secretary for IBM in White Plains from 1956-1960. She then worked for several area law firms as an office manager. From 1995-2007 Nancy was the co-proprietor along with her daughter Melissa of PC Paddocks Restaurant. Her last position before she retired was a bookkeeper for the Hudson Valley Philharmonic.
Nancy joined Freedom Plains Presbyterian Church on April 7, 1955, and was a member of the church choir as well as the founder of the church’s nursery school. She volunteered for 10 years at Vassar Hospital’s Nearly New Shop in Arlington.

In addition to her husband, Nancy is survived by her son George Wade IV and his wife Beth; her daughter Melissa Wade Haras and her husband John Weiss; her grandchildren, Wade Haras and his companion Kasey Kelly, Shaun Wade and fianceé Kelsey Lomando, Shelby Haras, and Kayla Wade and her companion Mike Lynch; her cousin Jane Washburn Pierson and numerous other cousins and relatives.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 21, 11 am at Freedom Plains United Presbyterian Church, 1165 Route 55, LaGrangeville,NY 12540. Interment will be private in Freedom Plains Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Nancy’s memory to Freedom Plains United Presbyterian Church.
