Bridge to be Replaced on Amenia-Pine Plains Road
in Pine Plains

The Dutchess County Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced work on bridge PP-12 on Amenia-Pine Plains Road (CR 83) in the Town of Pine Plains is expected to begin on or about September 4th. The bridge, located near the intersection of Righters Corners Road (CR 70), will be replaced due to structural deficiencies that have led to weight and width restrictions over time. Project work will involve replacing the existing bridge with a pre-cast structure and the addition of 4-foot shoulders.

Amenia-Pine Plains Road will be closed starting on or about September 4th with a detour route posted, and is expected to reopen in December 2018. The road closure will be approximately one-tenth of a mile west of the Righters Corners Road (CR 70) intersection. The planned detour will direct traffic along Righters Corners Road, Church Street (NYS 199), and South Main Street (NYS 82). View a map of the closure and detour online. The entire project is anticipated to be complete by early 2019. Amenia-Pine Plains Road averages approximately 430 vehicles per day.

Motorists are advised to plan for additional time and to exercise extra caution on the detour route, obey the posted speed limits, traffic advisory signs, and the directions from flaggers in the work zone to ensure the safety of workers and other motorists.
