Kesten Campaign Continues to Demonstrate Strong Grassroots Support in Latest Financial Filing

Vast majority of contributions came from small-dollar donations and from within SD40

August 15, 2018, PEEKSKILL, NY: The Kesten campaign released their latest fundraising numbers earlier this week, showing strong grassroots support from within SD40. To date, the campaign has raised approximately $120,000. 75% of contributions from the latest period came from small-dollar donations, while 85% of contributions came from donors within the district. These fundraising totals demonstrate growing momentum for Kesten’s people-powered, grassroots campaign.

Kesten also reported significantly more cash on hand – over three times that of his primary opponent – further demonstrating Kesten’s proven viability against a formidable opponent like Terrence Murphy. With a majority of activist groups and democratic committees in the district united in their support of Kesten, the campaign is ready to take on the Republican incumbent.

“The continued support we are receiving in the form of group endorsements and grassroots fundraising shows that we are running a campaign that is by and for the people of SD40,” said Kesten. “Our small-dollar and in-district contributions stand in stark contrast to the special interests Senator Murphy represents. I look forward to maximizing the contributions we have received in order to run an aggressive and efficient campaign that puts people over politics.”
