East Fishkill Police Department
On August 13th 2018, Officers handled the report of a larceny of credit cards from a vehicle. Within a short time frame, it was determined that one of the stolen credit cards had been used at a couple of local gas stations. Upon investigation, a suspect was identified through surveillance video at each location. On August 14th 2018 , Detective Greg Stanis and Lieutenant Jon Wood located the suspect, Matthew Smith, age 33, on Main Street in Poughkeepsie. Mr. Smith was arrested and subsequently charged with 2 counts of Grand Larceny 4th. Additionally, Mr. Smith was wanted by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision for a violation of parole. Mr. Smith was arraigned in Town of East Fishkill Court by the Honorable Judge Brian Rudner and was remanded to Dutchess County Jail with no bail pending a future court date.
