Indivisible Project Endorses Antonio Delgado for New York’s 19th Congressional District
Washington, DC — Today, the Indivisible Project announced its endorsement of Antonio Delgado in the race for New York’s 19th congressional district.
“Antonio Delgado is a native New Yorker who understands the issues that people in the 19th district care about. Antonio Delgado will fight for all families in his district – white, black and brown. Instead of scapegoating new immigrants, he’ll work to pass policies that help all families: fighting for a living wage, passing health care for all, and stopping family separations,” said María Urbina, the National Political Director of the Indivisible Project.
“In Congress, Antonio will fight for social and racial justice, infrastructure improvements, clean energy and universal healthcare. He has strong and proud working class roots and the solid progressive credentials that we know will make him an effective advocate for the Hudson Valley and the Catskills. For all these reasons, we are proud to endorse Antonio for New York’s 19th congressional district seat.”
To earn Indivisible’s national endorsement, a candidate must clear a tough three-stage process that begins with an endorsement and nomination by a local group. That nomination requires buy-in from local Indivisible group members at multiple points. A candidate cannot be endorsed without a strong platform and the enthusiastic support of informed, energized voters in their district.
