Brooklyn man arrested for felony drug possession

Milan, New York – On July 27, 2018, the New York State Police from the Rhinebeck barracks arrested Orlando Calderon, age 30, of Brooklyn, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, a class B felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor, and Criminal Possession of Marihuana, a class B misdemeanor.
On July 27, 2018, at approximately 4:20 p.m., Troopers conducted a vehicle and traffic stop on a 2008 Honda on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of Milan for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. While interviewing the occupants a strong odor of marijuana was detected. An investigation found the passenger, Orlando Calderon, possessed approximately 38 grams of marijuana, Adderall pills, and 9 grams of psilocybin mushrooms.
Calderon was arraigned before the town of Milan Court, and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $3,000 cash bail or $6,000 bond. Calderon is next scheduled to appear before the town of Milan Court on August 2, 2018, at 10:30 a.m.
