Obituary, Charles Tabor Kilgore

Charles Tabor Kilgore, 59, of Union Dale, died Tuesday at Regional Hospital of Scranton.

Born in Stoneham, Mass., son of the late Robert Sr. and Anna Tabor Kilgore, he was a graduate of the Kildonan School in Amenia, N.Y., and later received his CDL. Before his disability, he had been employed as a truck driver for Al DeLisa Excavating in New Milford and was a former member of the Teamsters Union. In the late 1970’s, he was associated with his father in the family business, Kilgore Construction, in Devon, Pa.

He loved his job as a truck driver and, in his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars. He was also a former avid skier. A kind and generous person, he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by a daughter, Gayle Anna Kilgore, Clifford Twp.; two stepsons, Wally and Brad Penny, both of Kingsley; two sisters, Anna Shiles and husband, Mitch, Paoli; and Heather Kilgore, Providence, R.I.; a brother, Robert Kilgore Jr. and wife, Ann Marie, Malvern; nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, with the Rev. Terry Drost, pastor of the Peckville Assembly of God, officiating. Spring interment, Welsh Hill Cemetery, Union Dale.
