Two men arrested for felony crack possession in Columbia County following traffic stop

PRESS RELEASE

Taghkanic, New York – On July 3, 2018, the New York State Police from the Livingston barracks arrested Darell Robinson Jr., age 28, of Pittsfield, MA, and Clifford D. Fields, age 44, of New Lebanon, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rddegree, a class B felony.  Robinson was additionally charged with Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a violation.

On July 3, 2018, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Troopers conducted a vehicle and traffic stop on a 2013 Honda Accord on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of Taghkanic for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.  While interviewing the occupants a strong odor of marijuana was detected.  An investigation discovered approximately 1.7 grams of marijuana, and over 56 grams of crack-cocaine.

Robinson and Fields were arraigned before the town of Livingston Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond.  Both defendants are scheduled to reappear before the Court on July 19, 2018.
