The Great Attic Classic 2018 Tag Sale and Silent Auction
Opening Night Cocktail Party on Friday June 29, from 6-8 pm
Sale continues on Saturday, June 30, from 9am-3pm and Sunday, July 1 from 9am-1pm
Sharon, CT: July 4th weekend festivities have never been more exciting in lovely Sharon, Connecticut when the Sharon Historical Society & Museum presents its long-awaited biennial Great Attic Classic, the truly splendid tag sale and silent auction.
The event kicks-off on Friday evening, June 29, from 6-8 pm with an early buying and cocktail party under the big tents on the museum grounds. Featuring our famous hors d’oeuvres (catered by friends of the Sharon Daycare Center) and plenty to whet your whistle, the evening will be a feast for the eyes and the palate. A special feature of Friday’s party will be the “Silent Auction” tent, which will showcase a select group of the crème de la crème of the sales items. The evening will culminate with the climax of the silent auction ending at 7:50 pm, so don’t miss the excitement. Tickets to the party are $45 per person in advance, $55 at the door. All proceeds support the museum.
If you’re not a party-goer, there is always plenty of selection under the tent as the sale resumes on Saturday from 9am-3 pm. On Sunday the sale continues from 9am-1pm. This popular event is presented every two years by the Sharon Historical Society & Museum and is a chance to acquire treasures large and small during three very busy days. The Historical Society & Museum reports that this year’s donations have been as top notch as ever.
Donations will be collected through June 23. Drop your small items at the Historical Society & Museum building Wednesdays through Fridays, 12-4, and Saturdays, 10-2, or call 860-364-5688 to make other arrangements. Pick-up may be arranged for larger items.
As usual The Great Attic Classic tents will be filled to the brim with antiques, new home décor, lamps, jewelry, lighting fixtures, framed original art, prints, china, glassware, furniture, rugs and linens and more. The Great Attic Classic sale has been long regarded as the best tag sale of the summer. This year will live up to all expectations, with donations coming in fast and furiously. All are reasonably priced, with items for every interest and price point.
