Poughquag – Marion (George ) Moriarty, of Stuart, FL and Poughquag, NY, formerly of Northborough, MA died on June 5, 2018 in Poughquag, NY. She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, William E. Moriarty. She leaves one son Barry Moriarty and his wife Eileen of Poughquag, NY, three grandchildren Taralyn Moriarty of Leland, NC, Rebecca Moriarty of Charlotte, NC, Connor Moriarty of Portchester, NY and one great-granddaughter Brooklyn LaLuz of Leland, NC.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of John George and Edna Abusamra George. She was a graduate of the former Commerce High School. She worked for Swanson Janson Company, Arcade Malleable Iron Company, Sawyer Lumber Co. and Sweet Life Foods from which she retired in 2001 as Administrative Assistant.
She was a member of the following organizations; First Presbyterian Church of Worcester, Worcester Oritorial Society, Worcester Festival Chorus, Jenny Lind Chorus, Trinity Church of Northborough, MA, Westboro Community Chorus, St. Marks Golf Association of Southborough, MA, Monterey Women’s Golf Association of Stuart, FL. She was a volunteer at UMass. Medical Center, Worcester, MA, Fishkill Ambulatory Surgery Center in Fishkill, NY and the First United Methodist Church Manna Kitchen in Stuart, FL.
She was predeceased by her brothers Albert, John Jr, and Edward George and her sister Isabelle Johnson. She is survived by a sister Adelle Giddens of West Palm Beach, FL.
A burial service will be held at the Maplewood Cemetery in Marlborough, MA at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriner Burns Children Hospital, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Regional Hospice Center of Danbury, CT.
