Danbury Man Arrested for Driving While Intoxicated

Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley. Jr reports the arrest of a 35-year-old Danbury man for driving while intoxicated in Putnam County.

On June 2, 2018, at approximately 6:28 p.m., Deputy Kevin Radovich arrested 35-year-old Carlos R. Agosto-Mendez of Danbury for Driving While Intoxicated in the Town of Southeast. Agosto-Mendez was stopped for a traffic violation on Route 6, between Argone Road and Starr Ridge Road, prior to his arrest.

Mr. Agosto-Mendez was subsequently arrested after failing roadside sobriety tests. He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor, for having a Blood Alcohol Content of more than .08%. Several empty beer bottles were found in his vehicle.

Mr. Agosto-Mendez was also charged with multiple traffic infractions. The DMV additionally revealed that Mr. Agosto-Mendez was driving with a suspended license.

Mr. Agosto-Mendez was processed for Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle to the 3rd degree. He was held for arraignment in the Southeast Town Court.
