Troop K Commander Major Gregory assigns new leadership in Zone 1

The New York State Police Troop K Commander, Major Robert C. Gregory, has assigned Captain Kathryne M. Rohde as the new Troop K Zone 1 Commander, and Lieutenant David W. Kolb as the Zone 1 Lieutenant.

Troop K Zone 1 has five barracks including satellite installations, serving twenty-four towns, and seven villages in Columbia and northern Dutchess Counties.

Captain Rohde’s assignment to Zone 1 was effective on May 28, 2018, and Lieutenant Kolb’s assignment was effective on April 19, 2018.

Captain Rohde began her career as a Trooper in 1999, and worked in both Troop K and Troop F.  In 2005 she was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, and worked in both Troop F and the Governor’s Protective Service Unit.  In 2012 she was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, serving in the Internal Affairs Bureau, Computer Crimes Unit, and then back to Troop K as the Zone 2 Lieutenant.  In 2017, she was promoted to the rank of Captain, and assigned to Troop K Headquarters.

Lieutenant Kolb started his career as a Trooper in 1993 working in Troop K Zone 1, and for a short time in the Governor’s Protective Service Unit.  He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2001 serving first in Troop F, and later in Troop K.  As a Sergeant, Lt. Kolb, served as Station Commander of both the Rhinebeck, and Livingston barracks.  He then served as the Emergency Management NCO of Troop G beginning in 2005 prior to being promoted to the Rank of Lieutenant in 2014.  Lt. Kolb was initially assigned to Troop F, and the Internal Affairs Bureau, before returning to Troop K in 2016.  Lt. Kolb has earned two letters of Commendation from the Superintendent, and one Superintendent’s Award throughout his career.

Both officers bring a wealth of knowledge, and experience with them to Zone 1 Headquarters SP Livingston.  They look forward to serving the people of Columbia and northern Dutchess Counties.
