State Police Wurtsboro Investigate Serious Commercial Vehicle Accident on ST-17

On March 25, 2015, State Police out of SP Wurtsboro investigated a commercial vehicle accident involving two trucks on ST-17 Eastbound in the Town of Mamakating.

Troopers out of the SP Wurtsboro barracks and Commercial Vehicle Unit investigated a serious injury commercial vehicle accident on ST-17 Eastbound in the Town of Mamakating on Wednesday afternoon. Edward Pierno, of Plymouth NY, was operating a 2001 Mack tractor trailer on ST-17 EB driving lane when he was rear ended by Alan Spoor, of Syracuse, operating a 2005 Isuzu box truck. Serious damage was done to the Isuzu causing Spoor to be entrapped for over an hour. Wurtsboro Fire Department along with EMS personnel was able to extricate Spoor, who was flown to Westchester Medical center for non life threatening injuries. ST-17 EB was closed for over an hour due to the accident. Investigation into cause of accident is ongoing.
