Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

PRESS RELEASE

On May 30, 2018, New York State Police at Wurtsboro arrested 42-year-old Jonq P. Tham of Wyomissing, PA for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Tham was operating a vehicle on State 17 in the town of Mamakating when he was stopped for a traffic offense.  During an interview of Tham, the Trooper requested consent to search his vehicle after he made verbal admissions of possibly being in possession of illegal substances.  A search was conducted revealing he was in possession of several amphetamine pills.  Tham was taken into custody and processed at SP Wurtsboro for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance  7th degree.  Mr. Tham was released on station bail and is scheduled to appear in the town of Mamakating court on a later date.
