Dover Plains, NY – Hudson River Health Care (HRHCare) is pleased to announce that Dover Plains-based family nurse practitioner Gloria Jeanne Tatsapaugh, FNP was chosen to receive the April Planetree Spirit Award for Excellence in Patient Care. The HRHCare Planetree Institute presents these awards to exemplary employees who work to make health care more personalized and create a warm and welcoming environment for all.

“Gloria goes above and beyond when caring for her patients in Dover Plains,” said HRHCare Regional Practice Manager Sherry Wyckoff. “She is very patient-centered, and provides home visits to those patients who can’t get to the health center. Gloria displays all the aspects of a well-deserving Planetree award winner.”

Nurse Practitioner Tatsapaugh has been serving patients at HRHCare Dover Plains since July of 2001. In addition to the mission-driven, excellent medical care she provides, she is known for engaging her patients through several activities. She has connected with many patients with developmental disabilities through her loves of gardening and horseback-riding, even bringing her horse Dolly to the health center for anyone who would like to meet her. She also began a local weekly walking club for patients to get them moving and improve their health. This club has grown to include line dancing, and now this group of twenty-plus participants shows off their talents throughout Dutchess County and Connecticut.

Nurse Practitioner Tatsapaugh holds an associate degree in nursing from Quinnipiac College, a BS in nursing from the University of Hartford, an MS in nursing (magnum cum laude) from Western Connecticut State University, and post-graduate certification in family nurse practice from George Washington University. She is an ANCC-certified family nurse practitioner, and was named a 2001 ProHealth Hero for contributions to her community. She is an avid gardener (she maintains the garden of the HRHCare Dover Plains Health Center), and an accomplished equestrian, fiddle player, and dancer.

Planetree is the global leader in advancing patient-centered care solutions, integrating the technology of modern medicine with the healing dimensions of compassion, comfortable surroundings, shared knowledge, and freedom to make educated choices.
