NY-19 Democrat Antonio Delgado Statement on Trump’s Withdrawal from Iran Deal
KINGSTON, NY — Antonio Delgado issued the following statement on President Trump’s decision to withdraw the United States from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
“Once again President Trump shows a pattern of reckless decisions that isolate the United States on the global stage,” said Delgado. “This destroys the credibility of our nation and our ability to negotiate future agreements, no matter the administration. It sends a terrible message to our allies and to the world that we are shrugging off our position as a global leader for peace and cooperation. Our European allies and Trump’s own administration have asserted time and again that Iran is abiding by the deal, which makes our withdrawal even more reckless. I am dismayed that President Trump has thrown both the future of the Iran Deal and our country’s future as a world leader into uncertainty.”
