Two Waterbury men arrested for felonies following traffic stop on I-684

Southeast, New York – On April 14, 2018, the New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested Kurtis M. Leduc, age 36, of Waterbury, CT, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree, a class C felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rddegree, a class D felony, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, a class E felony, and Omar S. Wilson, age 37, also of Waterbury, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree, a class C felony.

On April 21, 2018, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 2006 GMC, on Interstate 684 in the town of Southeast for several violations of the vehicle and traffic law.  During the interview of the operator, Troopers observed part of a handgun receiver under the driver’s seat.  Further investigation found Leduc in possession of a loaded Glock 23 semi-automatic pistol, and Wilson in possession of approximately 4.5 grams of cocaine.

Leduc and Wilson were arraigned before the town of Patterson Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.  Both subjects are scheduled to appear before the court on April 19, 2018, at 1:00 p.m.
