Obituary, Betty A. Van Dyne

 

Rhinebeck – Betty A. Van Dyne, 94, a longtime Stanfordville resident passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at the Thompson House in Rhinebeck.

Born May 22, 1923, in Newport, Rode Island to the late Bernard and Mary Korinek Aronson. She was a graduate of Pine Plains’ schools.

A homemaker, Betty loved to tend to her gardens and communicate with her pen pals.

On June 21, 1951, in Vernon Parish, Louisiana, she married Carl B. Van Dyne. Mr. Van Dyne predeceased her in 2009.

Betty is survived by her three children, Margaret Van Dyne of Pennsylvania, Ellen Evans and husband, Richard, of Rhinebeck, and Cassandra Eckert and husband, Tom, of Stormville; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Tatsch of Florida and Dinah Goodell of Connecticut; one niece, and two nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two daughters, Andrea Van Dyne, and Katrina Halstead.

There are no calling hours.

Graveside services and burial will be at 1 pm, Saturday, April 21st in the family plot at Schultzville Cemetery, Centre Rd., Town of Clinton. Pastor Jeff Silvieus will officiate.
