Man and woman from Athens, NY arrested for drug possession

On April 9th, 2018, at approximately 10:30 am, Dale Sancarlos, age 37, and Aprel Jackson, age 23, both from Athens, NY, were stopped on State Route 9W in the town of Catskill by the New York State Police for equipment violations. Subsequent to the traffic stop, troopers discovered approximately 14 grams of cocaine, approximately 10 grams of concentrated cannabis, marihuana, drug packaging material, scale and an expandable baton within the vehicle.

Sancarlos and Jackson were each charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3^rd Degree, intent to sell (B felony), Criminal Possession a Controlled Substance 4^th degree, narcotic drug (C Felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7^thdegree (A misdemeanor), and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2^nd degree (A misdemeanor). Sancarlos was additionally charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3^rd degree (D felony) and Aggravated Unlicensed Operator 1^st degree (E felony).  Jackson was additionally charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4^th degree (A misdemeanor) and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana (a violation).

Both subjects were arraigned in the town of Catskill Court before Town Justice Jacobs. JACKSON was remanded to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $25,000.00 cash bail or $50,000.00 secured bond.  Sancarlos was remanded to Greene County Jail with no bail nor bond. Both subjects were ordered to reappear on April 13th, 2018 at 10:00 am.
