Members of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office report the arrest of

ARREST: Members of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office report the arrest of Matthew M. McCarthy, 34, of Plattekill. Mr. McCarthy is charged with the misdemeanors of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, the violation of Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, as well as traffic infractions.

On March 28, 2018 at approximately 5:00 PM members of this agency stopped a vehicle operated by Mr. McCarthy on Hurds Road in the Town of Lloyd for traffic violations. Through investigation, deputies located a dagger, and quantities of concentrated cannabis and marihuana in Mr. McCarthy’s possession.

Mr. McCarthy was released with an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Lloyd Court on a later date.

ARREST: Members of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office report the arrest of Ryan M. Wells, 23, of Kingston. Mr. Wells was charged with the felony of Assault in the Second Degree, and the violations of Harassment in the Second Degree and possession of a controlled substance outside its original container.

On March 29, 2018, at approximately 6:15 PM, deputies responded to a residence in the Town of Wawarsing for a domestic dispute. Mr. Wells allegedly punched and kicked the victim, causing a compound fracture to the victim’s leg.

Mr. Wells was arraigned in the Town of Rochester Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 secured bond.

Deputies were assisted by the New York State Police and Ellenville First Aid and Rescue Squad.

ARREST: Members of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office report the arrest of Amber L. Mansfield, 24, of Kingston. Ms. Mansfield was charged with the felonies of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree and Tampering with Physical Evidence, as well as the violation of Disorderly Conduct.

On Friday, March 23, 2018 at approximately 10:20 PM deputies responded to State Route 209 in the Town of Wawarsing for a subject obstructing traffic. Deputies located Ms. Mansfield walking in the southbound lane. During the investigation, Ms. Mansfield attempted to dispose of a quantity of cocaine by throwing it in a storm drain.

Ms. Mansfield was arraigned in the Town of Rochester Court and released to appear in the Town of Wawarsing Court on a later date.
