Jeffersonville Man arrested for Felony Driving While Intoxicated

On March 24, 2018, State Police at Liberty charged Zafer Kabakci, 31, of Jeffersonville, NY with Felony Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Unlicensed Operator 1st Degree (Class E Felony). While on patrol, Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a tan Mercury Sable for inadequate plate lamps and crossing hazard markings in the Town of Callicoon. While interviewing Kabakci, an odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath. Kabakci was placed under arrest and transported to SP Liberty. At SP Liberty, Kabakci provided a breath sample showing a .10% blood alcohol concentration. Kabakci was processed without incident and arraigned in the Town of Rockland Court, where he was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Callicoon Court on March 27, 2018, at 7:00 pm.
