Obituary, Katherine De Forest Miller

Ancramdale – Katherine De Forest Miller, 82, of Route 82, passed away at home on Wednesday, February 21, 2018.

She was born on March 4, 1935, in Beekman, NY the daughter of William J. and Eleanor (Weaver) De Forest.

Katherine along with her husband Harold owned and operated the Millerhurst Farm in Ancramdale. She was very active member of the ENY Holstein Club.

Her greatest achievement and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren especially spending many hours in the kitchen baking.

On April 16, 1955, in Hopewell Junction, NY She married Harold C. Miller. He predeceased her on December 28, 2009.

Survivors include her four sons, James P. (Janice) Miller, Thomas A. Miller, Joseph P. (Hilda) Miller, Michael E. (Emily) Miller; eleven grandchildren, Shannon, Erin, Melissa, Leah, Hannah, Cassidy, Adam, Benjamin, Sarah, Jesse, Autumn; seven great-grandchildren, Michael A., Lisa, Quentin, Hope Emily, Otto, Kaden and Kayleigh.

She was also survived by a brother, Peter De Forest, four sisters, Margaret Farmer, Jane Whitman, Sue Ellen De Forest, Frances Antill and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by grandchildren, Michael E. Miller Jr. on December 12, 2009, two brothers, William and James De Forest, three sisters, Mary Johnston, Eleanor Ferland, and Julia Kinkle.

There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
