Poughkeepsie man with 21 suspensions arrested for drug possession

Poughkeepsie, New York – On February 16, 2018, the New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Stanley J. Williams III, age 29, of Poughkeepsie, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree, a class C felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nd degree, all misdemeanors, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a violation.
On February 16, 2018, at approximately 12:48 a.m., Troopers conducted a traffic stop on Montgomery Street in the City of Poughkeepsie. The operator Stanley Williams was found to have 21 suspensions on 9 dates. Williams was also found to be in possession of heroin, psilocybin hallucinogenic mushrooms, and marihuana.
Williams was arraigned before the City of Poughkeepsie Court, and he was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail with no bail. Williams’ next appearance was scheduled for February 21, 2018, at 11:00 a.m.
