Wappinger man arrested for domestic violence

Wappinger, New York – On January 24, 2018, the New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Joseph J. Brenna III, age 36, of Wappinger, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, Menacing in the 2nd degree, Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree, and Resisting Arrest, all class A misdemeanors.

On January 24, 2018, at approximately 9:14 a.m., Troopers responded to Degarmo Hills Road in the town of Wappinger for a domestic.  An investigation found Brenna menaced the victim with a weapon and had a previous conviction.  During processing, Brenna continued to act in a violent manner and intentionally damaged state property.

Brenna was arraigned before the village of Wappingers Falls Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.  Brenna was court ordered back to SP Wappinger on February 1, 2018, to complete the arrest process.
