Obituary, James C. Sigler

 

Pine Plains – James C. Sigler, 79, a lifelong area resident, entered into glory on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at his home in Pine Plains.

Born on November 15, 1938, in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Edward and Jessie (Watson), Sigler.

For over 20 years, James worked for Marine Midland Bank in Poughkeepsie, eventually holding the title of Regional VP of Operations. He then worked for 10 years as the business manager for the Wappingers Central School District. Following his work for the school district, he was the owner and operator of the Antique Delivery Service in Wappingers Falls until his retirement in 2002.

On October 11, 1957, in Newburgh, he married the former M. Barbara Long. Mrs. Sigler predeceased him on March 15, 2004.

James is survived by a daughter, Susan Sigler, of Oakland, California; son, Steven P. Sigler, of Pine Plains; grandchildren, Steven J. Sigler and Nicole L. Sigler; sister, Jessie Phillips, of Hyde Park; sister, Margaret Calabro, of South Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, James was predeceased by one brother, William Sigler.

Calling hours will be from 4-6pm on Saturday, January 27th at Sweet’s Funeral Home, Route 9, Hyde Park.

A funeral service will be at 2pm on Sunday, January 28th at the funeral home. Rev. Maryesther Krol will be officiating.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
