Obituary, John M. Sullivan

Sullivan, John M., of Pawling, NY, formerly of Purdy’s, NY, died Thursday March 19, 2015 at Pope John Paul Center in Danbury, CT. He was 88 years old.

Mr. Sullivan was born October 23, 1926 in New York, NY, son to the late Michael and Margarite Sullivan. On September 10, 1949 he married Margaret E. Perlini. Together they raised 7 sons. She predeceased him on December 8, 1993.

John was and engineer with New York Telephone for 35 years before retiring in 1991. He was a Deacon at St. Catherine Lamour Church in Lake Katrine, NY for 12 years and a Deacon at St. Joseph’s Church in Croton Falls, NY for 15 years.

Deacon Sullivan is survived by his six sons, Michael, John M., Thomas, Peter, James and Joseph, his one brother Donald, seventeen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his son Paul Sullivan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 10AM at St. Josephs Church, Somers, NY. Interment following at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Somers, NY. Friends may call at, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster on Sunday from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM.
