Poughkeepsie man and woman arrested for felony heroin possession

Poughkeepsie, New York – On January 24, 2018 the New York State Police Hudson Valley Community Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested Michael L. Harrison, age 35, and Dominique M. Amodeo, age 26, both of Poughkeepsie, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree with Intent to Sell, a class B felony, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree, a class D felony.

Investigators from the Hudson Valley Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, during the course of a narcotics investigation, initiated a traffic stop of a suspect vehicle on Main Street in the City of Poughkeepsie on January 24, 2018 at approximately 5:00 p.m.  Glassine bags used for packaging heroin were observed in plain view during the stop.  Further investigation found Harrison and Amodeo were in possession of over 300 decks of heroin with an estimated value of over $3,000, approximately one gram of crack-cocaine, and $2,000 in U.S. currency.

Harrison was arraigned before the Town of Wappinger Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $75,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.  Amodeo was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.

The Hudson Valley Community Narcotics Enforcement Team was assisted by Troopers from SP Rhinebeck, SP Wappinger, City of Poughkeepsie Police Department, and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police.
