East Fishkill woman arrested for driving while ability impaired by drugs

Southeast, New York – January 24, 2018, the New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested Christie C. Friedland, age 19, of East Fishkill, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd degree, both unclassified misdemeanors.

Troopers conducted a stationary traffic safety checkpoint on Route 22 in the town of Southeast on January 24, 2018.  While interviewing the operator of a U-Haul rental truck at the safety checkpoint a strong odor of marijuana was detected.  The operator identified as Friedland was arrested after a further investigation revealed she was impaired by the use of drugs and had a suspended license.

Friedland was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Southeast Court on February 8, 2018, at 1:00 p.m.
