27-Year-Old Man Arrested for Selling Heroin in Cold Spring

Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley, Jr. reports the arrest of a Village of Cold Spring man on numerous narcotics sale and possession charges, following a long-term investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Enforcement Unit.

Kurian C. Hamilton, aged 27, who resides at 2 Morris Ave, Village of Cold Spring was charged with three felony counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, two felony counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, one misdemeanor count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled substance in the Seventh Degree and two misdemeanor counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia Second Degree.

An investigator assigned to the Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU) developed information that Hamilton was involved in the sale of Heroin within the county. Over the span of several months, the investigator was able to make contact with Mr. Hamilton and arrange for the purchase of heroin on more than one occasion.

On January 10, 2018, Mr. Hamilton, was arrested after narcotics investigators executed a search warrant at his residence and recovered a quantity of alleged heroin and drug paraphernalia consisting of scales and materials commonly used in the packaging of narcotics.

Senior Investigator Thomas Corless of the Narcotics Enforcement Unit commended the concerned citizens of the Village of Cold Spring and the Cold Spring Police Department for providing information which led to the investigation of Mr. Hamilton.

Hamilton was arraigned before the Honorable Judge Costello of the Village of Cold Spring Justice Court and was remanded to PCCF in lieu of $25,000 cash / $50,000 bond.
