Obituary, Wayne Milheim McCarrier

Millbrook – Wayne Milheim McCarrier, 57, of Millbrook, New York, formerly of Brockway, Pennsylvania, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the Georgia home of his sister where he resided during his hospice care.

Wayne was born October 18, 1960, in Butter, Pennsylvania – the son of James D. McCarrier and Carole (Doolittle) McCarrier. Wayne was a 1978 graduate of Brockway Area High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the US Air Force, obtaining Tech Sgt. E-6 rank and serving his country until his retirement in 1994. After employment in the trucking industry, Wayne became self – employed, owning Country Fields Mowing, doing the work he loved in an area he enjoyed with people he treasured. Wayne has called Hudson Valley, New York, area home since his arrival there in 1999. His love of the outdoors and mountains took him across country enjoying America’s beauty.

Wayne is survived by his mother Carole; children, Brett L. (Sheila) McCarrier presently based in Ohio at Wright – Patterson AFB, Lynnette F. McCarrier, presently based in New Jersey at McGuire AFB; two grandsons, Gabriel and Alexander McCarrier. He is also survived by his sister Deborah (Robert) Beach of Newnan, GA; sister Patricia (Martin) Gerke of Ravenna, OH and one brother, David (Stacey) McCarrier of South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Wayne is preceded in death by his father James and nephew, Adam Gerke.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Wayne’s wish was that memorial donations be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, Newnan, Georgia 30263.
