Former Fishkill Correctional Facility inmate charged with 2014 assault

Fishkill, New York – On March 18, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks arrested Robert Whitaker, an inmate currently incarcerated a
Five Points Correctional Facility on an unrelated prison sentence, for the Felonies of Assault 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree.
After a lengthy investigation, Whitaker was arrested for pouring boiling water onto the neck and back of another inmate causing physical injury. The incident took place at Fishkill Correctional Facility during the summer of 2014.
Whitaker was arraigned at the Town of Fishkill Court and returned to Five Ponts Correctional Facility without bail.
He is due to appear at the Town of Fishkill Court on April 15, 2015, at 9:00 am.
