Poughkeepsie man arrested after fleeing traffic stop on the Taconic State Parkway

PRESS RELEASE

 

East Fishkill, New York – On January 9, 2018, the New York State Police from the Stormville barracks arrested Jordan C. Bennett, age 33, of Poughkeepsie, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, Obstruction of Governmental Administration, a class A misdemeanor, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nddegree, an unclassified misdemeanor.

On January 9, 2018, at approximately 2:50 p.m., Troopers observed Bennett operating on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of East Fishkill and stopped him for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.  Shortly after being stopped Bennett fled the vehicle into the nearby woods.  Additional assets were called in to assist, and Bennett was taken into custody without further incident.

Bennett was found to have several pending warrants for his arrest and a dagger in his possession.

Bennett was arraigned before the town of East Fishkill Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail $20,000 bond.
