The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a * Flood Watch for northwestern Connecticut, western Massachusetts, all of east central and eastern New York, and southern Vermont. * From late Thursday night through Saturday afternoon. * A combination of snow melt, heavy rainfall and potential ice jams may cause flooding on rivers and streams. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected, with locally higher amounts possible. * Rivers and streams could see locally fast and significant rises in vicinity of any ice jams. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings.
