Obituary, Theresa (Terri) Cosentino Moreno

 

Theresa (Terri) Cosentino Moreno of Pawling, New York died on January 8, 2018.  She was born on June 26, 1939, in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania.  She is survived by five daughters, Ersilia Moreno of Florida, Tracy Moreno of Pennsylvania, Nina (Ken) MacLeay of California, Yolie Moreno of Connecticut, and Gia (Alessandra Cozzi) Moreno of New York.  Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, Rasheed (Kim) Shihada, Vincenza (Zeyed) Hamad, Caroline and Isabella Oehlerich, Max and Spencer MacLeay, and Lily Moreno-Sheridan, all of whom she loved dearly.  Her son, Vincent, preceded her in death in 1979.Among Terri’s many interests, her most passionate was gardening.  As a Master Gardener and long-time member of the Pawling Garden Club she shared her love and knowledge of plants and flowers to countless people.   There was no place that brought her more joy than being in the garden.  Terri worked at Trinity Pawling High School for the past 18 years in the library and learning commons where she made many wonderful friends and where she volunteered with the Pawling Concert Series.  She also was a member of the beautiful community of Christ Church on Quaker Hill, where she will be memorialized in the Remembrance Garden.

The Memorial Service will be held at Christ Church on Quaker Hill located at 17 Church Road in Pawling, NY on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 11:00 am, with a reception at the church to follow.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Terri Moreno Gardening Fund c/o Pawling Garden Club, P.O. Box 60, Pawling, New York 12564.  This fund is for scholarships for individuals who wish to pursue a certificate in Master Gardening so that her spirit and love of gardening will continue.
