Car Bicycle Fatal Accident

PRESS RELEASE
On Thursday November 23, 2017 the New York State Police at Kingston investigated a car/bicycle fatal accident that occurred on Lucas Avenue Extension in the Town of Rosendale.
Shortly after 6:00pm Richard W Damms, 40 years old of Kerhonkson, was riding a bicycle southbound in the roadway. Danyelle Kovacs, 37 years old of Rosendale, was operating a Nissan Pickup truck Southbound. It appears Damms turned into the path of the vehicle as he was being passed and was struck. Damms was transported to Health Alliance Hospital by Mobil Life where he was pronounced deceased.
The State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit assisted with the investigation. There does not appear to be any criminal action on the part of Kovacs and the investigation remains ongoing
