LaGrange – Frances Todd, 84 of Town of LaGrange, NY, passed away at home on Sunday, November 19, 2017. Frances was born on January 25, 1933 in Beacon, NY to the Late Charles and Mary Jezsu Tanner. She married James Todd, Jr. on August 6, 1954 in Millbrook, NY. He predeceased her on September 15, 1972.
Frances received her Bachelors’ Degree in 1973 from Marist College and her Masters’ Degree in Education in 1982 from Manhattan College. Before her retirement in 2002, Frances was an English Teacher for St. Mary’s School in Poughkeepsie, Our Lady of Lourdes HS in Poughkeepsie, Millbrook HS and the Dover Plains Jr. and Sr. High School. She enjoyed needlepoint.
Frances is survived by her cousins Daniel Takacs and family, John Enkler and family, nephew David Tanner and dear friend Ginny Cervone. In addition to her husband, Frances was predeceased by her son John S. Todd, brother George Tanner, grandparents George and Helen Jezsu, aunt Margaret Slezak and cousin Larry Takacs.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 10:00am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville, NY 12540. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
