Troopers make arrest in convenience store robbery

On Saturday November 4th, Troopers from the Middletown and Greenville barracks responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Mobil On The Run convenience store located on Dolson Ave in Middletown.  The clerk reported to police that a male entered the store, displayed a handgun and relieved him of property.  Troopers quickly developed a description of the vehicle used by the suspect, a 2012 Mercedes Benz and stopped it short time later driving on Bigert Drive in New Hampton.

Scott Antione Webb, age 29 of Middletown was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a loaded .38 caliber handgun.  He was found to be in possession of proceeds from the robbery, along with 5 ounces of marijuana and prescription painkillers.

Webb was charged with Robbery 1st Degree, (felony) Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, (felony) Criminal Use of a Firearm 1st Degree, (felony) Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, (misdemeanor) Criminal Possession of Marijuana 4th Degree (misdemeanor) and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree (misdemeanor). He was arraigned in the City of Middletown Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash or $150,000 bond.   State Police were assisted by the City of Middletown Police Dept and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
