Troopers stop vehicle and find stolen handgun

On Sunday November 5th at 4 a.m., Troopers from the Greenville barracks patrolling State Route 17m in New Hampton stopped a 2004 Lincoln for violation of the vehicle and traffic law.  The operator of the vehicle was identified as Adams Heholt, age 36 of the Bronx.  Questioning of Heholt determined that he had been smoking marijuana prior to being stopped.  Further investigation led to the discovery of a loaded .45 cailiber Glock pistol and a quantity of marijuana.  The pistol was previously reported stolen in Pennsylvania.

Heholt was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, (felony) Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, (felony) Criminal Possession of a Firearm, (felony) and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. (violation)  He was arraigned in the Town of Greenville Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $15,000 bond.
