Fishkill, New York – On November 4, 2017, the New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Erin N. Kowalewski, age 39, of Cohoes, NY, for Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, both Class D Felonies, Promoting Prison Contraband in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, both Class A Misdemeanors, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a Violation.

An investigation indicated that Erin Kowalewski, a visitor, intended to provide drugs to an inmate at the Downstate Correctional Facility. Kowalewski was found to be in possession of Diazepam, Suboxone, Hydrocodone, and Marijuana.

The New York State Police were assisted by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations.

Kowalewski was arraigned before the Town of Fishkill Court, and she was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond. Her next appearance was tentatively scheduled for November 8, 2017, at 8:00 PM at the Town of Fishkill Court.
