On September 30, 2017, at approximately 12:12 am, the New York State Police from the Highland barracks investigated a single car motor vehicle accident involving serious injury on State Route 44/55 at the intersection of Lucy Lane in the Town of Plattekill. Stephanie T. Green, 36, of Beacon, NY, was operating a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu westbound on State Route 44/55 when she failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, subsequently exiting the roadway and struck a tree. Green sustained serious injuries. Green was transported by Modena Fire and Rescue to Vassar Brothers Medical Center where she is listed in critical condition. Investigation of the accident is continuing.
