Stanford, New York – On September 28, 2017 the State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Brett A. Mickle, age 32, of Cairo, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree with Intent to Sell, a Class B Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, a Class B Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.  State Police also arrested John Martin, age 50, of Cairo, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree with Intent to Sell, a Class B Felony, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, a Class B Felony.

Troopers stopped Martin’s vehicle on the Taconic State Parkway in the Town of Stanford for traveling in excess of the posted speed limit.  During the investigation, a hypodermic needle was observed in plain view which led to a vehicle search.  In the vehicle Troopers located a large amount of heroin, Clonazepam pills, and a small amount of marihuana.

Mickle and Martin were arraigned before the Town of Pleasant Valley Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
