Lagrange, New York – On September 21, 2017, The State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Benjamin M. Prinzivalli, age 28, of Poughkeepsie, NY, for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony for his part in a stolen vehicle investigation that began on August 15, 2017.  Prinzivalli’s accomplice, Michael A. Tarzia, age 24, of Poughkeepsie, was also arrested for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony on August 19, 2017.

Troopers received a call for a stolen vehicle on Carrington Court in the Town of Lagrange on August 15, 2017.  The investigation found the stolen vehicle, a 2015 Toyota Camry, had already been stopped and impounded for traffic violations by the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department.  The suspect, Tarzia, had been arrested following the impound and released on his own recognizance by the City of Poughkeepsie Justice Court.  With the help of the City of Poughkeepsie Police, Tarzia was located and arrested on August 19, 2017 for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd Degree by the State Police.

On September 21, 2017 Prinzivalli was turned over to the State Police by the City of Poughkeepsie Police after being arrested for an unrelated drug charge.

Michael A. Tarzia was originally remanded to the Dutchess County Jail by the Town of Pleasant Valley Justice Court for $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 property bond.

Benjamin M. Prinzivalli on September 21, 2017 was arraigned before the Town of Pleasant Valley Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail for $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 property bond.  If waived, Prinzivalli is next scheduled to appear at the City of Poughkeepsie Justice Court on September 25, 2017 at 9:00 AM.
