PRESS RELEASE
State Police at Highland announce the arrest of Jason Awal, age 43 of Port St. Lucie, FL for Sexual Abuse in the First Degree.
On September 5, 2017, Awal was taken into custody from the result of a warrant investigation. Awal was charged in the Town of Saugerties and the Town of Plattekill with Sexual Abuse in the First Degree (a Class D Felony). The incidents occurred over 10 years ago when the victims were less than thirteen years old at the time of the crime.
Awal was arraigned in the Town of Saugerties Court and remanded to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $100,000 Cash or $200,000 Bond.
The State Police were assisted by the Town of Newburgh Police Department.
