Livingston, New York – On July 19, 2017 at approximately 6:50 a.m, New York State Police from the Livingston barracks were dispatched by Columbia County 911 to a three car motor vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of State Route 9 and County Route 31.

A preliminary investigation indicates that a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier was traveling eastbound on CR 31 and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of State Route 9.  The Cavalier, occupied by Daniel Rowe, age 64, and Tammy L. Parker, 40 years old, both of Hudson, New York, subsequently collided with a 2017 Hyundai traveling northbound on State Route 9. The Cavalier overturned and struck a vehicle parked in the Xtra Mart gas station.

The Hyundai, operated by 53-year-old Denise Simmons, of Hudson, and her passenger, Denise Burpo, age 62 of Livingston, were transported to Albany Medical Center after the Hyundai overturned and came to rest in the south end of the parking lot of the Xtra Mart.

Parker was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased by responding paramedics.  Parker was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.

The crash remains under investigation.  At this time, no criminal charges have been filed.

The State Police ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact the SP Livingston Bureau of Criminal Investigation by calling (845) 677-7300.
