Georgia woman charged with promoting prison contraband

PRESS RELEASE

Beekman, New York – On June 25, 2017, New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested 28-year-old Aiesha L. Jenkins, of Lilburn, Georgia, for Promoting Prison Contraband in the 1st Degree, a Class D Felony.

Jenkins was arrested as the result of a joint investigation conducted by the New York State Police and the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations.

The investigation indicated that Jenkins entered Green Haven Correctional Facility while possessing live 9 mm ammunition.

The defendant was arraigned in the Town of Beekman Court before Town Justice Garito and subsequently remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,500 bond.  She is due to appear in the Town of Beekman Court on July 13, 2017.
