Thirty-Six Students Receive Awards from DCC Teachers Union

 

May 8, 2017 – Dutchess United Educators (DUE), the teachers union of Dutchess Community College, honored 36 students for academic achievement at the 32nd Annual DUE Awards for Academic Excellence on May 3.

Twenty-one students were nominated by professors for individual DUE Awards, while 15 others received special awards, which are given by entire academic departments or in honor of past DCC faculty and staff members.

The 14 individual award winners were: Cody Bajcar (Poughkeepsie), Marianne Blough (Rifton), Brianna Bolettieri (Hyde Park), Lauren Byrnes (Wappingers Falls), Alyssa Carl (Poughquag), Martha Conlon (Millbrook), Samsara De La Cruz (Carmel), Ashley Dohany (Poughkeepsie), Kevin Glinski (Fishkill), Matthew Lahey, (Poughkeepsie), Shannon Lawlor (Wappingers Falls), Jessica Minieri (Hopewell Junction), Akeva Morrison (Poughkeepsie), Courtney Mulkins (Staatsburg), Brianna Roger (Rhinebeck), Mason Secky-Koebel (New Paltz), Krystal Singer-Anderson (Lake Peekskill), Bryan Sosa-Alvarenga (Wappingers Falls), Andrew Teubl (Tivoli), Evelyn Vasquez (Pawling) and Morgan Wells (Fishkill).

Special awards went to: Christian Willis (Poughkeepsie), Azeeza Saafir (Poughkeepsie), Jessica Imperiale, (Fishkill), Erica Palmer (Poughkeepsie), Jessica Lisella (Wappingers Falls), Hannah Collins (Amenia), Joshua Nelson (Wappingers Falls), Susan Reilly (Stanfordville), William Welling (Farmingdale), Kristina Daniels (Beacon), Amanda Booth (Holmes), Zacarias Praino (Wappingers Falls), Andrew Kaelin (Brewster), Carolyn Naughton (Beacon) and Betsy Greenyer (Rifton).

In addition, retiring faculty member Maryann Longhi was presented with an honorary award recognizing her career-long contributions to academic excellence at DCC.
