Pawling Music By The Lake Concert Series Announces 2017 Summer Concert Schedule

2017 marks the 12th year of Music By The Lake summer concerts, a series of free concerts presented since 2006 by the Pawling Recreation Department. This season we have scheduled 4 concerts featuring top-notch bands – some previous favorites and a couple of new bands as well. The 2017 schedule looks like this:

July 8 – “The Annie Mash Trio”   Featuring former members of the band “Back To The Garden 1969”, “The Annie Mash Trio” plays all your classic rock favorites from the 60’s through the 90s; an authentic representation of this amazing era of music, while sprinkling in some of your favorite current hits. Many of the songs they perform are songs you probably know well but haven’t heard in a while, all kept alive by this extremely talented trio.

July 22 – “Petey Hop & The Jackrabbits”  Making their 4th appearance at Music By The Lake this season, “Petey Hop & The JackRabbits” are a jumpin’, jivin’, swinging four piece band built for a good time. Bandleader/guitarist Pete “Petey Hop” Hopkinson is a seasoned veteran who has performed extensively at  Hudson Valley venues, including Daryl’s House and The Town Crier, as well as opening for well-known bluesman Robert Cray at the Ridgefield Playhouse.

August 12 – “The Truants”   2017 is the 50th anniversary of the 1967 “Summer Of Love”, and “The Truants” are the perfect band to celebrate this anniversary. Making their first appearance at Music By The Lake this season, the band specializes in British Invasion and Garage Rock covers – their motto is “We play nothing after 1967!” FUN is what The Truants give you in their show! Their repertoire is selected specifically for dancing – if you’re not dancing at a Truants show, you’re probably recovering from hip surgery. There’s no other explanation.

Finally, on August 26, The Greyhoundswill close the Music By The Lake 2017 concert season. This entertaining group of musicians will take you back in time with their repertoire of driving rockabilly, R&B, roots rock, and – yes – even surf instrumentals. You’ll be tapping your feet and bobbing your head to their good-time music.

Admission to all concerts is FREE! The concerts will take place on Saturday nights from 6 to 8pm at Lakeside Park. Concerts will be held rain or shine – if the weather is bad, concerts will be held indoors in the Lathrop building at Lakeside Park.

So bring your picnic baskets, blankets and folding chairs and enjoy great performances at “Music By The Lake 2017”!
