Fishkill man charged with operating motorcycle with a fake license plate

Poughkeepsie, New York – On April 6, 2017, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested James C. Walton, 23 years old, of Fishkill, New York, for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 2^nd Degree.

Troopers patrolling Route 9 in the Town of Poughkeepsie stopped a 2004 Suzuki Motorcycle for having an invalid New York State Inspection sticker.  A subsequent investigation revealed that the motorcycle Walton was operating was bearing a counterfeit cardboard license plate.  Walton was issued several traffic tickets including operating an unregistered vehicle, operating an uninspected vehicle, and operating a motorcycle without a motorcycle license.

Walton was arraigned in the Town of Wappinger Justice Court before Judge Wolfson and released on his own recognizance.  Walton is scheduled to appear in the Town of Poughkeepsie Court on April 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.
