Obituary, Emma D. Hanley (Conklin)

 

Emma D. Hanley (Conklin), age 94 passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 4, 2017 at home in Georgia surrounded by her family and friends. She was born July 9, 1922 in Yonkers N.Y. to Roscoe and Rose Wise Conklin. On Dec 20, 1944 she married Clifford Howard Hanley who predeceased her in April 1983. Emma graduated from Girls Vocational School in 1939. She worked as a custodian at Gorton High School in Yonkers, NY until retiring in 1986. After retiring she moved to Highland NY until moving with her granddaughter Donna Hanley to Loganville, Georgia. Emma was an avid knitter, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, as well as fiddling around on her much loved I-Pad.
Emma is predeceased by her parents, 2 brothers, and sister. She is survived by her brother William Hayes, and her children Patricia (Robert) Michaud, Clifford (Anna) Hanley, Susanne (predeceased August) DePolito, Michael (Liz) Hanley, 18 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held by Horn and Thomes Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling NY Friday April 7, 2017 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A burial will follow Saturday April 8, 2017 at 11am at Clove Cemetery on Clove Valley Rd Poughquag, NY.
